Life has thrown me a few curveballs, and while it wasn’t always easy, each challenge shaped me into who I am today.
It all began during my early college days when I received a phone call that no one ever wants to get: a family member had been a victim of domestic violence. It brought up memories of my own childhood, where domestic abuse was an unwelcome guest in our home. It was a heavy moment, and I struggled to process it all.
Through all the tough times, my mom was the one who lit the way. When I was six, she made the courageous decision to leave her own painful situation, teaching me that even in our hardest moments, we have the power to choose something better. That lesson stuck with me.
Fast forward eight years, and life hit me with another blow. My best friend, who lived just a block away, went missing. After three months of agony, her body was found in the Mississippi River. These traumas took root in my mind and weighed on me deeply.
The journey to heal my emotional wounds has been one of the most transformative experiences of my life. I had to build a toolkit filled with self-awareness practices and emotional regulation strategies that helped me find balance and peace. And now, my mission is to share that toolkit with other women.
